How did you hear about an internship at Chartwells?
A year and a half ago, I went to a career fair for the business school and talked with the Compass Group recruiter (who just happened to be the regional director - Andrew Lipson) thus beginning my journey as a marketing intern with Chartwells. Let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have learned so much in the short time that I’ve been working for Chartwells that it’s hard to sum it all up, but I will try.

Tell us about your experience
During my time at Chartwells, I have worked with an incredibly talented team to not only manage the social media accounts, but create fliers, plan and execute marketing and promotional events, and conduct lots and lots of research.

What is your advice for those who are looking for an internship?
For those of you who are looking at participating in an internship with Chartwells (or any internship for that matter), my biggest piece of advice to you is to take every opportunity to learn something new. When I first started working for Chartwells, I asked to work closely with the graphic designer once a week to learn how to use Illustrator, Photoshop and the Chartwells website. When she ultimately left, I was trained enough to take over her tasks. Not only did this make the transition easier, but it also allowed me the opportunity to use and further develop these newfound skills.

Any last thoughts?
This internship has given me real life experiences that transfer to all aspects of my life and career. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and I hope you make the most of your experience, good luck!

Over the year and a half of this internship, I have become experienced in Illustrator and Photoshop (seriously my new best friends) which has helped quite a bit with my classwork and has provided a very important skill set I plan to use in the future.
